Sun East was chartered in 1949 as the result of Sun Oil Company employees banding together to assist each other with their financial needs. Our board of directors, committee members, and staff strive each day to uphold the mission and vision of the credit union. We are grateful for the trust our members place in us and for the privilege of being able to serve them and their families!

From humble beginnings, Sun East has grown to over $815 million in assets, serving the financial needs of more than 51,000 members throughout Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey.

Sun East has grown to over $815 million in assets. Anything earned above operating costs is reinvested into the organization to deliver competitive rates and relevant services to our member-owners.

Sun East and the Sun East Foundation have contributed over $517,400 to the communities we serve and live our “People Helping People” philosophy.

Sun East has what is called a “field of membership” which defines who we are able to serve. What this means for you is that we need to establish how you’re eligible to join Sun East before opening your account.

An initial $5 deposit into a savings account is required to establish your membership.
